Job Overview

Scope and Purpose of the role

We require resilient high-level communicators who have experience working with young people to support and guide through their daily lives. A person that is passionate about our community and enriching the lives of others with collaborative mentorship

  • Eligible for a fixed term basis until June 2023, working 22hrs per week.
  • The days of work can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Our 2-week induction allows us to adequately assess the workplace to accommodate your capacity.

Description:

  • Support young people from year 6 to year 12 with Generalist Counselling.
  • Provide local families with Family Capacity Building casework.
  • Offer intake and assessment to young people who are referred to our service.
  • Deliver quality evidence-based and evidence-informed information and advice to young people, referring them to programs and services matched to their identified and expressed needs.
  • Conduct Administration duties with adherence to company processes and policies, maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with young people, their families, internal and external stakeholders, and management.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and also within a multi-disciplinary team.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary physical demand level.
  • Repetitive movement of the hands is likely on an occasional basis for tasks involving computer use.
  • Frequently sits when meeting with clients and when completing reports or case notes.
  • Mental skills necessary include communication, evaluation, organisational, decision-making and planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or other equivalent qualification.
  • Experience providing generalist counselling to children and/or young people.
  • Sound knowledge of NSW Child Protection Reporting and the Child Safe Standards.
  • Computer skills and the ability to complete all documentation to meet compliance standards.
  • Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle which is comprehensively insured.
  • A Cleared National Criminal History Check not more than 12 months’ old.
  • A Cleared Working with Children check (WWCC) NSW.
  • Proof of COVID Vaccine, including third booster as per Public Health Regulations.
